Here is a good formula:
Let us assume that the resolution of 300 dpi. (dots per inch)
Go to the camera manually to information from the sensor. Take the number of pixels X and Y, and divide by 300th
This is your gross maximum optical resolution.
Note that no one apart with a large photo of an inch looks like. Also, remember that the pixels are not really digital photography in recent years, no matter what they say. It is the ability of the objective of resolving the details.
Also note that when we discuss the best print size 35 mm with 400 ASA film would be about 8x10 before the grain is visible, and perhaps even smaller, digital is really strong. The difference is the film displays a wide range of colors.
5MP compact camera offering a photo is not the same quality as digital SLR 5MP together. and that due to the lens.
A good glass lens ACE more detail and clarity and definition than any other piece of plastic garbage Cheapo China.
You are not the pixels, but if you will blow the image up to poster size, it begins to see blur, too.
Address 8x10 is not higher, but a standard size 8x10
